I am about to start the hustler conversion

..... Has any body done a 40/60 suspension linkage setup on a hustler before? I am looking on rcc right now. You are SoCals #1 Hustler Aaron, what are your thoughts?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Yup 2 years. That is insane slow build right. Well im pretty deep into a new build now.... I have even hacked at the ol' Huster a bit to give it an updated design that will allow me to mount my bottom front links inside the chassis. .... its getting there. My biggest worry is where Im gonna come up with 2 servos but I will deal with that later.

I do have picks, just need to post them.

Woohoo! This is processing nicely now for sure!!!!! I am right on schedule for it to be running at this Saturday's comp!

Just have to make servo mounts and install and program my electronics.

Here is an update on the super build. With pics too!

Here she sat a week ago,

waiting for steering linkage and servos for front and rear and a few other minor things. Got sick of it sitting there and I have always wanted to run SUPER, So...

I ordered up a pair of servos for the front and reer axles, went to home depot and purchased some 1/4 solid steel rod, and a quick run to hobby shop for some Revo rod ends, and a lil order to McMastercarr for some 8/32 set scews for the linkages.

Links being fabricated.

front steering link.

Rear stearing link.

A quick mock up of front servo.

Fabricated up a quick servo mount that will hold my servo at an angle, this minimized all clearance issues while still giving me optimum placement for steering.

Checking fittment and mounting.

Here is front linkage with steering turned full driver.

Steering turned full passenger.

And front steering linkage at dead center.

so there is the front end, I am hoping to at least get the rear servo mounted on the axle by tomorrow after that its just rear stearing linkage and electronics installation at programing and I have a LIVING SUPER!!!!!!!!!

Another quick lil' update.... I finished up making another servo mount same as the front and then completed the linkage for the rear steering. All that is left now is the installation of the electronics and programing the 6 ch stick radio to make her dance! Oh, yeah... I purchased enough Rovers and CA glue last night to try my hand at making some SUPER rovers too. This should be a blast since I have never done any sort of tire modificating before.

Daaaaamn. Started this thread darn near 3 years ago!!! I cannot believe this thing is finally runnin. Here is a finished pic of her on the bench.

And a quick lil shot of the two comp rigs with their matching paint ooooo aaaaah Hahahahaha

This is not the end of the SUPER build still tons left to make it have the power supreme but at least finally i can PLAY WITH MY FRIGGEN TOY TRUCK!!!
