PAJERO metal top

thanks to nathans jeep, i got hooked and finally got my first scale rig. i traded my abc genetics race roller for a NIB cc01 pajero.

so far ive done alot since i built it. i replaced the plastic 4 links and made my own out of spare axial linksand tamiya parts. relocated some points for more clearance. did the steering mod but has a couple of problems like bump steer but after testing it, i didint notice anything big that would ruin the performance. the mod is awsome but alot of work. i have alot more steering WAYY more aprotch clearance. now all i need is a tekin FX system.! so far i took my rig to mt baldy and cougar buttes with the stock tamiya speed controller and stock mabuchi silver can motor. the speedo was 130 and the motor was 216! anyways ill update more when i have upgrades BTW this thing crawls surprisingly good. it kicks ass

well rc4wd is out of stock on the 1.55 wheels so i have to wait. lol i could have sworn i saw cc01 under 1.5 rigs. ohh well.

so stock tamiya wheel are not 1.5s?

i still need to practice brazing.

(Stock Pajero wheels are 1.9 not 1.55, however Like K4L said if you plan on getting 1.55's then we'll leave the thread in this section )

update 9/23/09

finally!!! the FXR is in. still waiting on the 100t motor i got from ebay. the tekin 55t that comes with the combo still gets hot. i temped aroun 160, and also stalls. the 100t should be nice. or if ever ill get a gear reduction later on.

i also made my 2s2p A123 packs for forest falls =D i will also do a 3s a123 to test.




so i refuse to lift the body for more clearance. so i cut the front and rear bumpers. bought my selft a torch and practicing to braze to make me some bumpers and sliders. also replaced the pajero tire cover with a spare tire =D

im converting the suspension to a droop setup. im using TLT shocks . ill update once its done.

I like to braze on a cinder block in a cheap low profile Harbor Freight vise.

update

wow alot has been done since i last posted

instead of the tlt shocks i used losi buggy shocks. slapped on a hpi gear reduction, which i think all scalers need. the control is so awesome!!!!!!!!!. it is now 100% water proof. installed complete sealed ballbearings. hand wound 40t motor .installed yeah racing aluminum knucke/carrier. had to mod the crap out of the hub to make it fit. did some tweaks on the steering and man this thing is solid. sofar the cc01 is well broken into. haha this thing crawls so good.
