But I figured I would show you guys the K5 Im putting together for the 1.9 comp so you at least have a CHANCE against me! LOL, jk I was bored so I thought I would put some of these up. I started with an scx10 kit, put the hand bros steering kit on it, mounted a tekin 55t and fxr up under the hood with a RC4WD 4:1 reduction box on it coupled down to a T1 disruptor transfer case. Put some losi shocks on it and brazed up a front & rear bumper and some sliders for it. Still waiting on a winch to get here and also I think Im gonna put some high steer knuckles on it so the drag link isnt at such a steep angle. My center of gravity is going to be alot higher than all the box stock scx10 guys but I like the extra challenge. I dont want to make it TOO easy to beat you all.





gotta give another thanks to MrTheRed for hooking me up with the last piece of the puzzle which was the coupler from the 3mm reduction box to the 5mm driveshafts.

Na man its not a RTR. The SCX10 comes in a box of pieces. I actually DID build the rig and then changed up quite a bit. You ever seen a stock axial with NO ax10 transmission? Look a little closer and see the transfer case where the motor/trans should be? And the motor is actually mounted up high in the engine compartment! Cummon you know axial didnt do that! LOL.




Oh and yes I do love my hand. (Maybe a bit too often )

Took it out for a shakedown today with the guys to horsemans and it walked the walk. Dont get me wrong its NO HONCHO but for the setup it has I was pretty happy. Lets just see if we can keep it up for the 13th.

I like the adjusted motor clocked 10 degrees or so for less friction on the drive train, ur always thinking.

Got my winch today so I thought I would share some more. I mounted the winch and a RC4WD fairlead with a new hook from Tapped out. (thanks man) Got a full interior stuck up in there with some scale goodies and also got those high steer knuckles in there to get my drag link angle alot more reasonable plus a little added clearance under the tierod. We will see what it can do saturday.

I sold my JK scaler and the rok lox and pyro rings went with it so I had to buy some new shoes for the K5. I had a set of True Scale 1.9 wheels with anodized blue rings but they just never went with anything I had so I finally EASY OFFED the rings and shot them with some red paint. I know it wont last long but I think they look PURDY right now. Also stuck a set of lil nova foams in these. 32 screws per wheel including the hub caps and I came up 2 screws short!! Take a look:

I have been wanting to do this for a long time but I was trying to hold out for the TTC so I wouldnt get mud on the interior. Sure enough a day or so after I cut the shell off Matt puts up a date for the TTC. I am hoping to make a canvas top for it before then. I left the rear glass in the tailgate for now. Ill see how I like it with the new top.

That top looks real good! IMO since you made the rear roll up also, it would look even better without the the window back there. That JK interior fits in there perfectly.
