It better work! This is all YOUR fault. I would be happy still racing my 1/8th scale truggy if you didnt bring that dang crawler over to my house way back when. Now I am addicted and need professional help!

Thanks for all the comments guys. I will post up more pics as it gets closer to being done. (Hopefully very soon)

First sign of addiction.....blame others! I don't think you are the only one in this hobby who may need help though!

Damn, with all those moves we could set up 3 courses for you, each with 10 gates in a 10' X 10' square! I'm assuming that the body is within the rules? It brought back memories of the Mr. Hallenbeck (KingBling) fiasco at the Axial finals 2 years ago.

After installing the new 65:1 cases it leaves enough room for the servo to go BETWEEN the motor & axle instead of on top. I cut some 1/2 delrin mounts and used stainless steel all thread for the drag link. Here is what I came up with:

    Front BTA

And I wanted to keep the rear BTA so I had to do it just a bit different:

Looks awesome Jim! Do you think that you could have a problem with the servos getting too hot sitting between the axle and motor and nestled within all that this delirn? To bad we did not know a buddy that worked at a machine shop that was fully awesome at frabricating stuff like this. I think if you could get those delrin mounts machined out of aluminum with fins added in they would not only function as a mount for the servo but also a heat sink. Too bad we don't know anybody with those skills and all of that machinery readily available!! LOL

I have already bugged MTR enough on this super. He built the lower links and some rad lower shock mounts for it. I think the delrin is going to work out fine. I have had it out twice now with the new steering design and no issues with heat so far. If anyone wants to go play supers with me LET ME KNOW!! I am getting into it alot more than I thought I would and need to learn how to drive it now!! With talking with Aaron recently he thinks we may have a pretty decent turnout for the super class next season so if you have the time BUILD ONE UP and come play with us.

Here is a pic of the machined lower shock mounts. They pinch tight on 1/4" links but also have a place for a 2.5mm set screw if you want. I know he has a few extra sets made up right now also.

I did the shock cap mod to front and rear shocks, put some heavier weight oil all the way around and did an internal spring in the front end with some limiters. I can run the shocks upside down now to try and keep the weight in the lower end.

Well Mark did pretty good with the Super Beetle out at the nationals in Oklahoma. He took a 14th overall and tied with 2 other guys with a perfect -20 on course 2.
Way to go man! Here are a couple shots from there:
